Brian is a seasoned accounting professional with extensive experience in the legal and telecommunications sectors. His career began as the Services Manager for a large telecommunications company, where he oversaw accounting functions across multiple operating divisions and states, as well as corporate IT. Through several mergers and a corporate office relocation, Brian’s career trajectory took a new turn, ultimately leading him to Taft Law. It was here that he discovered his passion for law firm accounting.

As Assistant Controller and later Controller at Taft, Brian modernized financial operations by embracing paperless technology and integrating best-in-class processes. His 13 years at Taft and multiple mergers exposed him to a variety of operational approaches. Allowing him to refine strategies for operational integration and continuous improvement, ensuring the firm consistently selected the most forward-thinking solutions.

Brian brought this strategic mindset to DBL Law when he became the firm’s first Chief Operating Officer. In this role, he expanded his expertise beyond accounting, managing HR, IT, marketing, and overall business operations.

With a desire to support more law firms, Brian transitioned to SurePoint Technologies as a Client Success Manager. In this capacity, he helped firms leverage SurePoint’s software to streamline workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and drive profitability.

Currently, Brian serves as a fractional controller at 4L, providing strategic financial leadership to multiple law firm clients. He acts as a trusted advisor, overseeing the full accounting cycle and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting. This role combines his deep technical accounting expertise with a client-focused, service-driven approach, balancing hands-on accounting with high-level financial analysis and proactive problem-solving.
