Dave fixes things and focuses on workflow. At Gardner Carton in Chicago, Dave was Assistant Controller with responsibility for client intake, credit and collections, and financial analysis. Collection problems were generally the result of workflow problems – skipping practical intake steps, insufficient retainer; small past due problems grew into larger past due problems. These problems were catalogued and both intake and past due monitoring workflow procedures imposed. After GCD’s merger with Drinker Biddle, Dave joined Holland & Knight, LLP at their Tampa-based global administrative center as Assistant Controller with a portfolio focused on credit and collections, client-matter intake procedures, and revenue-based financial analysis. Dave’s niche at 4L is to work with law firm personnel to streamline processes and improve efficiency in all accounting and billing activities.
